United States Coast Guard Training Center Cape May is the only enlisted recruit training center and accession point of the United States Coast Guard (USCG). This center is located on 1 Munro Avenue, Cape May, New Jersey.  Basic training is tough and you will be challenged every day, both physically and mentally. Training procedure is –

• Initial days will be spent getting haircuts, filling out forms, receiving uniforms, learning your way round and getting oriented.

Coast Guard has a mission of rescue and search, national security, illegal migrant interdiction, marine resource management, maritime commerce and environmental protection.  When joining the United States Coast Guard (USCG), there are many things that you should do to prepare.

United States Coast Guard (USCG) does not have medical officers or chaplains. As an alternative, Public Health Service and Navy chaplain’s officers are assigned to the Coast Guard to perform these functions. These officers wear Coast Guard uniforms but replace the Coast Guard insignia with that of their own service.

The United States Coast Guard (USCG) employs several small arms including machine guns, rifles, shotguns and handguns. They also use cutters and small boats on the water, and aircrafts or helicopters in the air.

• Coast Guardsmen use .40 S&W caliber SIG-Sauer P229R DAK as the standard personal defense weapon.
