United States Army Operations

Gulf War

The Gulf War, or Persian Gulf War, or the mother of all Battles, or Operation Desert Storm, began on August 2, 1990 (Iraqi invasion of Kuwait) and ended on March 3, 1991 (Iraq accepts ceasefire). However, Operation Desert Storm was officially ended on November 30, 1995. This war was waged by a United Nation authorized Coalition force from 34 nations led by the United States, against Iraq.

US Military Academy

Army AcademySituated at West Point, New York, the United States Military Academy at West Point (also referred as Army, West Point or USMA) is a federal service academy, which provides four-year undergraduate training and education program. It was established in 1802 and is one of the oldest United States five service academies. USMA was the first American college to have class rings, and its technical curriculum was a model for later engineering schools.
The admission process of West Point consists of two parts –

  1. Candidates must apply directly to the USMA.
  2. They must obtain a nomination.
