Military decorations of the United States Coast Guard (USCG) are currently issued under the authority of the Department of Homeland Security (DHS). DHS is a Cabinet department of the United States federal government with primary responsibilities of protecting the territory of the United States from terrorist attacks and responding to natural disasters. USCG awards are similar to U.S. Navy decorations and Coast guardsmen are entitled to receive all authorized foreign awards, international decorations and inter-service decorations.

United States Coast Guard (USCG) does not have medical officers or chaplains. As an alternative, Public Health Service and Navy chaplain’s officers are assigned to the Coast Guard to perform these functions. These officers wear Coast Guard uniforms but replace the Coast Guard insignia with that of their own service.

Initial Entry Training (IET) or United States Army Basic Training is a rigorous program of mental and physical training, which is required in order for an individual to become a soldier in the United States Army Reserve (USAR), United States Army or Army National Guard. It is designed to be highly challenging and intense, and is carried out at several different Army training centers. However, by reading these you will not only learn the basics of how to act like a soldier, you will slowly but surely become a soldier. You will also become self-confident, physically fit and able to tackle any difficulties that comes your way.
